SalsaQueenProductions.com – Latin Dance Site by Myrtle Beach Website Designer

Remember when I said I could make a site in as little as 24 hours?  Well, here’s an example of one of those.

I was approached this past Friday by the Salsa Queen herself, Adalia Ellis, about making a website for her Latin Dance Company, Salsa Queen Productions.

She was already running a website for her Myrtle Beach Latin Dance Conference, but needed a more spiffy and unique-looking site for her company.

Salsa Queen Productions runs Latin Dance Classes in Myrtle Beach, SC.  She teaches salsa, merengue and bachata.  She also promotes Latin Dance Events throughout the Myrtle Beach/Grand Strand area.

How Long Does it Take to Make a Website?

In a previous post, we discussed the answer to the most-common question I get, “How do I get a website designed?”

Well, The second-most common question I get from people is “how long does it take to get a website designed?”  The short answer to that question is “that depends on you.”  And that doesn’t just mean that smaller sites take less time.

The more materials you give me up front, and the more accessible you are throughout the process, the more quickly I can get your site from The Sit-Down to The Launch.

I have had people come to me on Friday, telling me they need a site up by Monday.  They had all the materials and information I needed, and I had their sites up by that evening.  I can do it that quickly.

I’ve also had people who gave me very little material, told me very little about their company and were difficult to contact on a regular basis.  Their sites took  months, because if I don’t know what I’m designing, and can’t reach the client to find out, I have nothing to do.

It also has a feed of this here blog on it!  It’s a simple, nice-looking site, and it was fun to make it.

I used some new graphic ideas, like the wide-open ocean background and the faded coding on the header and footer.

This one is really exciting…Myrtle Beach Website Designer is designing and maintaining the website for Custom Automated Machines (CAM).

For 20 years, CAM has been developing cutting edge manufacturing solutions and quality services for the Manufacturing Industry.  They have done some big work for some big-name manufacturers, as well as more streamlined products for smaller manufacturers.

FrankBrunner.net – Comic Book Artist Site by Myrtle Beach Website Designer

Myrtle Beach Website Designer has designed the Official Website of Frank Brunner, Comic Artist Extraordinaire!

For those who don’t know me, I am a HUGE comic book fan.  I especially love X-Men and Howard the Duck.

Well, guess who created Howard the Duck?  That’s right, Frank Brunner.  He also created Elric, the heavy metal sword-and-sorcery legend.  I won’t say that Metalocalypse borrows HEAVILY from Elric, but…

Frank has done drawing work for a slew of comic books, including Doctor Strange, Red Sonja, Conan the Barbarian, and many others.  He has done stuff for Marvel Comics, DC Comics, and many independent comic labels.

He has worked with Hanna-Barbera (Jonny Quest), Walt Disney Imagineering (Euro Tomorrowland movie), Warner Bros. (preproduction Batman design) and DreamWorks (Invasion USA).

Frank was even the head of character design for the Fox animated series X-Men, which incidentally is my favorite cartoon of all time.

In addition to all that, he has done the Jurassic Park, Star Wars and Mars Attacks trading cards.

He has done live-action work for Disney and ABC.

He has done animation work on about a dozen series, including X-Men and Dark Water.

He’s done poster art, record album covers, and pretty much everything else you can draw on.  Frank Brunner is an Icon of the Art World.

Anywho, a while back I get a call from Frank, telling me that he wants a website, but that he doesn’t just need some guy to throw some cheap-looking site together.  He wants someone to share his vision for what the site should look like.

So we get together and start sketching stuff out.  He gives me hundreds of pages (and thousands of dollars worth) of his art, and I put together his artistic dream in HTML format.

Frank wanted a site where he could showcase his legacy as one of the top comic book artists alive, sell custom and commission artwork, as well as feature his new project, Dino Force.

 

Frank also has put together books of his work, the newest of which is Mythos: The Fantasy Art Realms of Frank Brunner.  Mythos is 136 8.5″x11″ pages on heavy, gloss stock featuring the master fantasy and comic book illustrator’s work with such characters as Red Sonja, Dr. Strange, Conan, Elric, Howard the Duck and others.

Incidentally, the reason that the Freedom’s Edge project wasn’t as easy as transferring files is because the CD that the previous webmaster sent did not work, and they didn’t have another backup of the site. So we basically had to remake the site from scratch, while also making it look exactly the same as the old site.
